Fox Country Players is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Whittington as Director of our Fine Arts Academy for the summer of 2011. She has worked with the Fine Arts Academy for the past two years and served as Art Director in 2010.
Jennifer has been involved with Fox Country Players since she was eight years old, when she appeared in The Hobbit . Returning as an adult, she has been integral to many FCP productions and played principal roles in Beauty and the Beast and Nunsense . She also directed last fall's production of Father of the Bride .
A graduate of Yorkville High School, she was actively involved in vocal music and appeared on stage in productions including Dracula and Our Town . She also participated for eight years in the Show Choir Camps of America at Millikin University. In her last performance with SCA, she had the opportunity to appear on the Cinderella Castle Stage at Walt Disney World. Jennifer went on to major in theatre at Eastern Illinois University, where she appeared in numerous shows and discovered a talent for costuming, for which she was the recipient of a Talented Student Award. She has worked professionally in the costume field since 1998, at Broadway Costumes in Chicago and as Wardrobe Assistant at Drury Lane Theater in Oakbrook.
Jennifer and her husband, Kevin, live in Bolingbrook with their five-year-old twins, Aaron and Andrew.
